Delete Your Data
Tinnitus Diary: Spike Tracker · Steady Apps · Updated July 11, 2026
Tinnitus Diary does not create accounts and we store nothing on our side — there are no
servers. Your data exists in exactly two possible places, and you can permanently delete
both yourself, instantly, without asking anyone:
1. Delete everything from inside the app (recommended)
- Open Tinnitus Diary
- Tap the gear icon (Settings)
- Tap Delete all data
- If you use Google Drive backup, keep "Also delete the backup in my Google Drive" checked
- Confirm
This permanently removes every spike entry, check-in, custom trigger, and
setting from your device and deletes the backup file from your Google Drive. It cannot
be undone, and there is no copy anywhere else.
2. Delete the app's local data by uninstalling
Uninstalling Tinnitus Diary removes the entire local database from your device.
3. Delete the Google Drive backup without the app
If you no longer have the app installed but had backup turned on, you can remove the
backup file directly in Google Drive:
- Open drive.google.com and sign in
- Click the gear icon → Settings → Manage apps
- Find Tinnitus Diary
- Click Options → Delete hidden app data
You can also revoke the app's access to your Google account at any time at
myaccount.google.com/permissions.
What data is affected
- On your device: spike entries (loudness, ear, sound type, duration, mood impact, notes), daily check-ins, trigger list, app settings
- In your own Google Drive (only if you turned backup on): one backup file containing the same diary data, stored in the app's private Drive folder
- With Steady Apps: nothing — we hold no user data, so there is nothing for us to delete
